Dr. Ni received his Ph.D. in 2008 from Peking University. He then worked at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology in Japan, and moved to National University of Singapore in 2010. Sinceearly 2011, he has been Associate Professor and subsequently Professor ofMaterials Physics at Soochow University. At present Dr. Ni leads a team working on various types of energy storage systems including rechargeable ion batteries, supercapacitors, and microbatteries in particular, with a focus on fundamental physics, chemistry, and material in these devices. Dr.Ni has published 15 patents (8 issued and 7 filed), 2 book chapters, and 100+ peer reviewed papers in journals including Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, Matter and NanoLetters. These papers have earned a total citation more than 4000 and H-index of 40. He served as Assistant Editor of Materials Technology and Functional Materials Letters, and organizing chair and member for a series of functional materials conferences.
