My principal research interests lie in the field of cognitive neuroscience of addiction. I am currently leading a research team in investigating the cognitive mechanism of Internet addiction disorder (IAD, or pathological Internet use). The research is funded by National Science Foundation of China (Grant No.30900405). My research program aims to elucidate the neuro-cognitive basis of Internet addiction disorder using a combination of experimental methods. We study the inter-related cognitive functions of inhibitory control, attentional selection, decision-making, and the impairment in rewarding or punishing system in IADs. The experimental methods we employ include ERP and functional brain imaging.
