uIndividualDescription

Dr.Zhi-YongWANGgraduatedinphysicsfromHengyangNormalUniversityandNanjingNormalUniversityin2003and2006,respectively.Afterbothone-yearworkingexperienceathis1stAlmaMaterCollegeandthree-yearPhDstudyingintheNationalLaboratoryofSolidStateMicrostructuresatNanjingUniversity,hejoinedChongqingUniversityofTechnologyinOctober2010,wherehehasbeeneversince.Attheendof2011,hewasappointedasanassociateprofessorofphysics.Afterthat,hespentoneyearasavisitingassociateresearcherintheDepartmentofChemicalEnvironmentalEngineeringattheUniversityofCaliforniaatRiverside.Todate,hehas(co)authoredover20peer-reviewedresearchpapersincludingpublicationsinsuchprestigiousjournalsasJournalofChemicalPhysics,JournalofPhysicalChemistry,PhysicalReview,JournalofChemicalTheoryandComputation,JournalofStatisticalMechanics,andScriptaMaterialia,whichyieldedmorethan300positivecitationsbasedonWebofScience®withtopjournalsinvolvedsuchasPhysicalReviewLetters,AdvancedMaterials,andACSNanoetc.

uResearchInterestsandAvailablePositions

Wang’sinterestsaredirectedmainlytowardscomputationalmaterialsphysics,statisticalmechanics,andsoftmatterphysicswithspecialemphasisonseveraltopicssuchasspin/electrontransporttheory,phasetransitionindisorderedsystems,electrostaticsattheinterface,molecularself-assembly,andpolymerphysicsaswell.Wang’sgrouphasbeenseekingtorecruitthosewhoareinterestedinemployingcomputersimulationtechniquestopavethewayforexploringnewphysicsincomplexchemicalandbiologicalsystems.Researchopportunitiesareavailableforbothundergraduateandgraduatestudentswithbackgroundsinphysics,chemistry,mathematics,biologyorcomputer.
