主要从事智能加工,CAD/CAM,加工动力学的研究,担任International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacture, Computer-Aided Design, Journal of Computational Design and Engineering, Journal of Industrial and Production Engineering, Noise ControlEngineering Journal等期刊的审稿人。中国工程院第四届中美工程前沿研讨会先进制造组中方代表。主持国家自然科学基金 2 项,参与973课题1项,国家自然科学基金4项。
